Volunteers & Supporters Appreciation Dinner - Sunday, 1 August 2010

On Saturday the 24th July we had our second annual Volunteers and Supporters Dinner at the Onehunga Community Centre. The food was once again cooked by The Spit Roast Catering Company and we had Chicken, Pork and Beef along with all the salads you could imagine! It was a great evening! Again thank you to  everyone who supports Drug Arm!

We said good bye to Raymond and Rebecca, and presented them with a certificiate of service. A certificate of appreciation was also given to Bev Kater for her and Bert's Support.

WHAT WE DO

DRUG-ARM's core operation involves the use of our "Street Vans". These are distinctive vans equipped with our trained volunteers, emergency first aid, phones, hot drinks, food and resources. These van's patrol communities primarily late Friday & Saturday nights. The aim is to be a "good Samaritan" service, meeting and assisting people where they are and establishing bridges of assistance. The purpose is to help move people towards finding help in recovering themselves from at risk lifestyles. We also provide community education, and offer referrals to those wanting help.
